Having a roof over my head...

Author: Becky Gooding | Date: 12-08-2009

...is very strangeee after two and a half weeks of being in tents (Duke of Edinburgh and KIJ)

Hey everyonee, Becky here, blogging from home *waves*

Na na na na na...SPACE PIRATES

There is now no-one at KIJ, everyone is home again or off on other trips =D

I was so sad to leave KIJ as it was an amazing week and a bit, one which I will never forget, so THANK YOU to everyone that was there and helped to make it such a fab week for everyone that was involved.

I drove home on Friday, spending quite a long time on the M25 on my way back, oh well clutch control practice! haha, I brought my friend back with me and we raved in the car on the journey home with carrots and crackers =D  Once we arrived home I dropped her and all her stuff off to her house and drove the last couple of mins to my house, where I found my dad and sister. My sister was one of the many people that came home with KIJ flu, she has pretty much recovered now and I hope everyone else has too!

The day after I got back from KIJ I had to go to work, this was good because it meant that I got back into routine, but bad because it meant that I didnt have time to catch up on all the sleep I've lost over the past couple of weeks, I've caught up now (several mornings have passed me by) and am now wondering how its been a week since the doughnut party for Si!

I wanna go back to KIJ! I miss the Media Team, I miss my guides, I miss the whole jamboree!

Oh well only 4 years until the next KIJ!

Media Team Reunion anyone?

This is Becky, over and out =]

An empty field

Author: Disco-Si | Date: 07-08-2009

Well thats it! The field in Cudham has been emptied and returned to the Girl Guides!

Last night after the participants had left it poured it down - luckily most people left in the dry! Following a party we woke up this morning to find the field engulfed in thick fog!

Through the day we cleared the media centre and now I just need to unpack and wash everything (could take a while!).

The field is now a patchwork of green where tents and walkways have been. I'll try and get a photo uploaded later...

Thank-you to everyone who took part and don't forget to order your participant DVD! You can also leave feedback in the 'Contact us' section which will help us in planning the next KIJ!

Its over!

Author: Kirsty Thorpe | Date: 06-08-2009

Well, KIJ09 is over!

I'm actually writing this from home as I left this morning... It was upsetting to have to leave the site and all the new people I have met (Especially my Media Team!) but I have so many amazing memories to keep hold of!

Last night was the closing ceremony. It began with lots of dancing tunes and then the cast came onto the stage! Afterwards all the managers from site came onto stage (Including the one and only Simon- head of Media!) and then we played our video! We've spent most of the week coming up with this and its using the parody of  "Bulletproof" we've talked about before (Its called Waterproofs) We turned it into the staff song and different groups of people sung different lines and had bits of video filmed... in your waterproofs of course! :D Ours included us dancing then setting soaked by some "friends" with buckets!

So anyway, nearly everyone will be offsite now... probably clean and telling everyone all about their KIJ experience. I hope that everyone has enjoyed it...

I don't really know what else to say really... thanks to everyone on site and off site who made KIJ amazing!

Will probably not blog again now!

Kirsty :)
