Camp handbookThe last day in the office - from Monday I'll be reporting from site...

A final series of deliveries have arrived today including keyboards for the Internet Cafe and more importantly 3,000 participant handbooks! These colourful books will tell you what you need to know about the event and guide you in achieving the 'Global Explorer Award'. Every camper at KIJ 09 will receive a copy when they arrive on site - so write your name in it and keep it safe!!

Not long now

Solid inkIn a weeks time participants will be arriving onsite for a week of fun and 2 massive empty green fields will be converted into KIJ!

Last minute preparations are taking place and the office is busy today with deliveries arriving - the printer ink has just turned up - we're using solid ink - its a bit like a crayon and doesn't have all the packaging of normal print ink cartridges - you just put the crayons in the machine and they melt to make the ink so the only left over packaging is the box which can be recycled - much better for the environment!

We'll also be printing 'Pulse' the Jamboree newspaper on recycled paper!

KIJ Blog!

Author: Disco-Si | Date: 22-07-2009

Hi! And welcome to the KIJ blog! I’m Si and I’ll be running the Media Centre during KIJ….pop in and say hello!

During the event the media centre will be producing the daily newspaper, highlight videos and more. You can also get involved by dropping in and writing your own blog or an article for the paper, recording a video, or submitting your photos for picture of the day! The media centre will also have an internet café so you can keep up with the outside world, bring your charger and charge your phone/mp3 player/camera and much more!

That’s enough of a plug for the media centre…over the next few days my team and I will be blogging on the leadup to KIJ. Check back for photos of the build and all the latest news from the site! During the event we’ll be putting pictures online as well as copies of the daily newspaper/videos so if you can’t make KIJ in person – keep watching!
