The Explorer Zone has its own evening programme for all 14-18 year olds. CampfireThe traditional Campfire will be run on Tuesday night and for your entertainment I have invited David Walsh from Reunion Campfire fame to run and entertain us. So a few things we need to do to impress our David. - Make sure the fire lights.
- Offer some sketches or songs.
- Attend.
- Participate.
- Enjoy.
So if you have a suitable item, clean, short, loud and able to be seen at night bring it along to show off to others. Monday 3rd is your day “E Sub Camp day”Starting our day - you are asked to join together for an “E Sub Camp” communal breakfast. We would like everyone to start their day by setting their breakfast table in the “High Street” (middle walk way) of the Sub Camp. At 8am we all sit down together and eat our breakfast, which is prepared by you. However you may wish to invite the neighbouring Troop or perhaps exchange some members, allowing others to sample your breakfast. This should be a fun and enjoyable occasion showing off your breakfast skills, table manners together with culture and hospitality. By 9.30am the breakfast has finished and we then need to move on to the Victorian “Ye Oldie Village Fete”.This is a good old fashioned Village Fete. You are asked to be part of this and run your own stall bring along games like Treasure Maps, guess the number of sweets in a jar, coconut shy, try your strength and fun activity that you have used at an event like this before. People will not be charged and prizes can be given, if you need help please email us and we will try our best to resource your request. Our Cameron will be arranging the races; egg and spoon, 4 person sack races, slippery pole if we can find one, stocks together with some stalls of our own. To make the Fete authentic we ask you to dress Victorian, not too difficult, just look in the wardrobe! It would also help if you indicated what type of stall you are running so we do not have all the same type. The afternoon we will be trying “Circus Skills”.An expert company will be running this for us and after an introduction the camp will be divided into two, so trying out the skills is manageable, but everyone who wants too will have a go. One group for an hour will entertain themselves and/or practice the evening entertainment then its change round so everyone will has the opportunity to try out the skills. Great fun learning a new skill and good for improving the balancing technique – don’t ask why, just enjoy. In the evening is “Trash Fashion”.Using everyday items you would dispose of to create a fashion statement and strut your stuff down the catwalk. Examples are: Silver bottle tops as a necklace, crisps packets or black sacks sewn together into a dress, old clothes made into a ladies or man bag, old cereal packets into hats and jumper sleeves into leg warmers. There are many opportunities to use recycled clothing and throw away items as fashion statements you would like to be seen in (or not!! – as the case maybe). Put your creative thinking caps on, open up the sticky back plastic box and prepare your statement for dazzling the “KIJ’s”. Your preparation can be before you arrive or during the days leading up to your “E Sub Camp Day”. After the fashion parade “Sub Camps Got Talent”will follow. Are they the next Peter Kay “Amarillo” fame and a stand up comedian or a young band like “McFly” - to some they are out dated, but they are the only ones we could think of! Maybe you are a Greek dancing act, or are you the next “Diversity” dance group or even with a hidden singing talent like Susan Boyle. Whatever they can do - tell a joke, play spoons, whistle a tune, we want you to show it off on stage. So bring along your instruments but more importantly your talent to the Jamboree where we will seek you out and arrange a practice before the evening. The Bristol Gang Show people will be with us to assist with production and advice. The best from our show will then be asked to perform at the closing ceremony. Simon Cowell will not be there but we can still make him interested! “E Sub Camp Day Programme”8am Breakfast with the Sub Camp Members. 9.30am Prepare for the Fete. 10am Opening of the Fete by a “Mystery Guest”. 12 midday Fete Closes. 2pm Circus Skills begin. 5pm Circus Skills end. 7.30pm “E Trash Fashion and Talent Show. 9 pm that’s it for the day. Friday is our day out so everyone including the Sub Camp Team will go out for the day.
