London day trip

Author: Callum | Date: 01-08-2009

On Friday 31 of July me and my explorer unit went to London from Kent international jamboree. We went on a coach which left at 7:30 am, and the coach driver dropped us of by the Queen Mary, firstly we walked past Cleopatra's needle. Then we took the underground to Bond Street, where we walked  to Hamley's, I bought a Paddington Bear Keyring to add my collection. We met all the Explorers at  Hyde park corner and had lunch under the Marble Arch. We shopped in Primark for Pyjamas for the Explorer PJ party. Then jumped and bus to Trafalgar square. We climbed the Lions in the square and then walked through Horse Guards parade. We stopped at the London eye to have a well deserved ice cream. The bus journey back was quite quick. We had a great day out.

Hi i'm steve, i'm 14 and in subcamp tolerance. The activities here are amazing, just got back from my day.The buggies on the arena field were amazing, challenged my friends Chris and Ben to a race (lapped them twice), get there early and go on the buggies instead of the go karts and you'll get on near straight away, also the buggies can go faster because they've got more traction and can jump higher cos the track has more bumps and is longer than the go kart. Also try the massive air assault course in the same feild, I did the course and completed it in 12 minutes 35 (see if you can beat it). Finally try the down hill buggies, boards and sledges, just try not to roll when you turn at the end. Have a great day!

Ben Mote Park Maidstone

Hi I'm Ben and I'm here to talk about the things ive done at KIJ. The activities are awesome! Take the Go Karts and Buggies, It's awesome to be whizzing around a track with some mates and even if your not very good at it you still have a laugh! Air Extreme was awesome, even it was a bit scary to start with! It looks alright from the ground, but when you get up there you realise that it really is quite high. Even though I'm scared of heights I still gave it a go, now I'm not so nervous about being high up, I'm still not brave enough for the absailing but there you go. Anyway, for me KIJ hasn't just been about having a fun or making new friends, It's been about conquering fears. I hope that you all have a great time at KIJ this week and don't forget to try new things, after all you have nothing to lose!!!
